WR LLC welcomes you to Timothy's archival AstroGrafix web site!

Timothy has retired from the digital graphics industry. However, he is looking into fine art with traditional airbrush on canvas next.

About 2005, at the age of 50 Tim took a leave of absence from doing commercial arts and Information Technology (IT) work (two industries often intertwined) and returned to the Pacific Northwest. After years of working in several other countries he went back to school for a few years here in the USA .. with the idea of figuring out what he wanted to be when he grew up while doing part-time odd jobs (learning something about many things has always intrigued him).

What's next? Just after 2010 ended Timothy was hospitalized but recovering well from a stroke for several months and feeling very fortunate (he says he enjoys life on this planet). While recovering, Tim is planning on getting his feet wet in the fine art field.

Tim has found he does not make headway unless he slices art projects (or most any project) into less overwhelming little tasks. Here Tim gives an example:

  • Dusting off the old airbrushes and tuning each one of them up.
  • Choosing from the 3 feed types of airbrushes to practice with initially (syphon-fed, gravity-fed, and turbine) and choosing how detailed he will begin.
  • Choosing from his 2 major control styles of airbrushes to start the initial layout with (single-action or double-action).
  • Acquiring a new or used airbrush may be required for certain projects.
  • Choosing from the 3 primary categories of "colors" (paints, inks, dyes).
  • Warm up with a fun practice project using only black on white (takes the jitters and procrastination away that can happen if he doesn't feel completely ready to start).
  • Maybe even do practice project with white on black (reversed). Either way, these allow warm up with attention given to positive, negative, and neutral.
  • Perhaps then he'll be ready for a practice project with 3 primary colors (maybe transparent to allow on-canvas mixing of secondary and tertiary colors.
  • After one or more of those warm ups, he may refer to his own class outline developed for teaching airbrush painting over 20 years ago. It is titled, "Timoteo's 22 Elements of Successful Airbrushing"! After all, he says he needs a refresher course. And if it works for him, he will likely update it to share online. :-)

Timothy's archival AstroGrafix website is just below, but here is a shortcut link to a few more examples of pre-stroke airbrush works.

Thank you very much for stopping by,

I'll share a little secret with you... the #1 question I am asked...

"Where does AstroGrafix prefer to HOST web sites?" First, let me clarify...

  • GREEN: To be sure web sites are as "green" as possible; I host them on a server farm primarily using WIND ENERGY. Yes, renewable, green wind-energy! How cool is that? Yet, the host also has to have other energy forms as backup.
  • UP TIME: I insist the company excel on their "up time", and be large enough to ensure they are comfortable with growth and scalability.
  • TOOLS: They must have all basic tools, features and programs (shopping carts, web mail options, statistics, etcetera) to allow the Control Panel user a wide range of useful quality tools for continual improvements and upgrading of a client's site.
  • TUTORIALS: The host must have a fantastic library of "How To" video tutorials on using those tools (many of us learn better looking over someone's shoulder, even if virtually).
  • TEMPLATES: To keep yourself from falling slave to your webmaster's schedule, why not use an online web editing tool, like SiteBuilder. This allows even a novice to choose various template options to get the basic structure of your web site up in a matter of minutes. And after watching just a few tutorial videos, you will be adding content to your web site yourself and be amazed at what you have posted in just a few days. This alone could save you from having to buy expensive Dreamweaver or other web editing programs. And SiteBuilder is just one of the FREE tools offered through my top choice in web hosting. You'll be offered a chance to DEMO it even without need to create your hosting account.
  • ECONOMICAL: The host must be competitively affordable so as to supply all those great features and benefits to me, my family and friends (who often happen to also be clients) a financially fantastic deal.
  • HELPFUL: Finally, They must be available to assist via Phone, Chat, and other means.

HOSTGATOR is all of these things and more. And I've asked HostGator to cut you a great deal on their "HATCHLING PLAN", as well as other great options. Note that their Hatchling Plan is great for MOST starting needs, with the option to upgrade at any time. Click on the HostGator image below and choose WEB HOSTING in the menu.

Why do I offer this information without asking you to become my client here?
Because I am retiring from building web sites (I let the youngsters do that now)!!!

It is time for me to get back into painting more in the direction of fine art. And maybe it is time (2010) for me to begin posting links to places you can get the web and graphics work done that I used to do for the public? I'll start with sharing my hosting tip above and see how that goes. Perhaps I might turn this site into a web log (BLOG) of such resources; but for now, it exists as an archival sampling of the kinds of artwork (digital and analog) I have done since even before the Internet existed.

Thank you very much for stopping by,
